It all depends upon whether you're looking for more power to compete 
with QRM or QRN.  If you're trying to rise above the QRM and everybody 
does the same, there's not much net gain.   At any given time, though, 
the QRN is fixed and as best we know isn't smart enough to try to 
compete with you.
