[Elecraft] sub receiver

Back in the days when I had a TS-940 I made a very handy mod. Since I used a headset
and didn't need the up/dwn connections on the microphone jack, I brought out the
REV
and A/B VFO lines. I had a small minibox with three nice big pushbuttons
attached to a
three foot cord that was connected into the mic plug. With this setup I could
sit back and
use the PTT button to key the tx on SSB, use the REV button to listen on the DX
stations
rx freq or change VFOs with the A/B button. I think this could be done on the K3
albeit
with a lot more work.

I 've always worked split with two VFOs but after a few emails from you guys and thinking about it (brain taxing) I can see where the second receiver would be useful. When I was working the HK0NA group, I just transmitted where they said they were listening but they had about a 10 kHz spread so it was a guess whether they would hear me or not. It would be nice to know exactly where they are listening. Thanks for the advice. Love the reflector.
