[Elecraft] Is a digital multimeter required?

A "regular" VOM is not suitable because:

1) It does not have the input impedance required to avoid loading the
circuit voltage checks. 

2) Most VOM's apply enough voltage to the circuit to measure resistance to
destroy i.c.s transistors, etc. 

You can use an older Vacuum Tube Voltmeter (VTVM) for voltage measurements.
You need in an input impedance of at least 10 megohms.
