You might consider keeping the FT-817 for its 2m/432 all-mode 
capabilities.  That's my plan.
If the FT-817 isn't already flooding the used market, it should be once 
the FT-817 owners who have ordered KX3s receive theirs.
Doesn't bode well for a good resale price.
