[Elecraft] When VFO locked : pse keep RIT unlocked

In this situation, why not lock VFO B and operate split?  

>From the KX3 manual:
To lock VFO A: Hold KHZ for about 3 seconds.
Tap RATE to unlock. To lock VFO B, swap it with
A first, lock, then swap back.
