I can vouch for that. I backpack with my KX1 and have never had a problem with
it. It's been a workhorse for me, and will continue to serve in that capacity
until my KX3 arrives (although, I'm beginning to wonder if that will ever
really happen).
I also have a K2 with the 100W and and auto tuner in a separate enlcosure. Never
a problem with them either. I've not ever taken the K2 backpacking but I have
used it for fixed portable ops and for demos and had no trouble with it. They're
pretty tough when properly assembled.
