Isn't there a greater difference?  These FLEX you can actually buy today the KX3....who knows and "thems that do ain't talking".

I've been mobile from the African bush, SE Asia, NY City and on cross-country trips such as from Salt Lake City to Point Lookout, MD. and many other places.
>From those experiences I would strongly suggest getting the best mobile antenna you can afford. 

Power is wasted if you can't get it to radiate <Grin>
