If you use DXLab's Commander rig control program, it has buttons to do quick
splits up or down 1, 2, 5, and 10 kHz.  http://www.dxlabsuite.com/ 

Another technique is to set VFO B on the DX station and tune the pileup with
the larger VFO A knob with split turned off.

I plug a Radio Shack stereo audio switch into the K3's speaker jack.  I can
switch between speakers and two different headphones with the switch.

SPLIT+2 is my second favorite MACRO

PF1 = SPKR+PH # Very useful if using the back panel phone jacks.
PF2 = SPLIT+2

The SPLIT+2 is so valuable, why is it not a standard front panel setting?
Maybe A>B triple hit. Or a new option for the A>B double hit to also do the
+2 and SPLIT on. And free up PF# for the next favorite macro.

With the P3, it is so nice. Enter SPLIT+2 and the RED VFO B marker turns on
with it's +2 offset frequency. Really nice single button user friendly SPLIT
transition!
