[Elecraft] 27 Ohm 1/8w resistor in new K3 kit?

Hi,

I just completed the first stage of my K3 kit (where now calibrations etc must be made),
but there is a 27 Ohm 1/8 W resistor in the kit, which I haven't been able to figure out
what its purpose is. I expect its for a mod of some kind but I have not figured out which.

Any ideas please? Is there a modification that may not be incorporated in a new K3 kit?
