[Elecraft] VFO linearization issue on K2

As usual, my fingers are faster than my brain. If you TURN the VFO knob
until the dial reading is 7.0 MHz, starting from an adjacent band, the dial
reading may be 7 MHz but the K2 filters, etc., will still be switched to the
original band.
Use direct frequency entry to put the whole K2 on 40 meters.

Just a hunch, John, but you can tune to 7.0 MHz without the K2 being in the
40-meter band! If you the VFO knob to 7 MHz with the K2 on an adjacent band
the dial reading will keep going, but the K2 filters, etc., are still
sitting on the original band.
Try "direct frequency entry" to select a 40 meter frequency between 7.0 and
7.1 MHz. If that's the case, doing the direct frequency entry will switch
the entire K2 to 40 meters.

Subject: [Elecraft] VFO linearization issue on K2
Ok folks, I got my power problem fixed and am now completing the receiver
VFO
linearization process before starting on the transmitter. I put the rig on
7.050 cw normal, fl 1 and have my freq counter probe in TP1. I start the
CAL PLL and the display starts counting down but then immediately goes to
INFO 232. INFO 232 says I am not on 40m but the last time I checked 7.0-
plus is pretty much in the 40 m band. Any suggestions?
