[Elecraft] K3 & Heil headset

I'm using my old Pro Set iC (it is an electret, so I switch on power to it) which works great with the K3. Use a foot switch into the back. I sold the Heil iC adaptor since the mic plugs into the back panel and I use a 1/4" to miniature adaptor on the front for the headphones. I also use a Heil desk mike for casual operating (another electret element), and it plugs into the front panel mic jack and I use the K3 setup to switch between front and rear mic.

My new K3 works great on CW - love the way it sounds & the intuitively
ogical controls - but I'm trying to figure out what part I need if any to
onnect my Heil Pro headset, with a PTT hand trigger.  I see a larger stereo
lug coming from the PTT switch & a small one coming from the heaset (1
ire), which currently go to a Yaesu adapter to my old rig.  The other two
ires to the headset appear to be for the earphones (small stereo plug).
Can I use "PTT IN", "STEREO PHONES" & "MIC" on the back & just ignore the
-pin connector on the front?
Sorry if it is a dumb question.
