G’day all,
Like many others I am waiting, with eager anticipation, for my KPA-500
kit to arrive.
I have a question regarding driving a KPA-500 with a IC 756 Pro 3. I
know that it can be done using the PA key out/in cabling, no problems
there, however I would also like to use the KPA-500 15 auxiliary port
connected to my 756 using either the 8 or 13 pin DIN port wired as per
the cable connections shown on pg. 17 of the KPA-500 manual.
My question is twofold:
1. In the KPA-500 manual it states that a common VGA cable should not
be used, apart from the obvious pinout configuration is there any
other reason why not?
2. I spoke with Dale at Elecraft and he informed me that Elecraft only
supplies an auxiliary cable to suit the K3 (P/No KPAK3AUX), no
surprise Hi Hi!
I wonder if there is a supplier of a suitable
interface cable yet in the states?
