[Elecraft] New Sanyo eneloops

Are these batteries available with solder tabs?  Who are some good
distributors?  I find that assembling packs by soldering wires is difficult and
makes for bulky packs.  A source for packs that are preassembled by spot welding
into 4 or 6 cell packs would be nice, but I have not seen a source except for
the complete packs which tend to be expensive with the case already assembled.
Cost effective for newer equipment, but hardly a way to salvage a 20 year old
HT.

Eneloops hold a charge quite well.  I'm using them for various
wireless peripherals around the shack.

The Tenergy NiMH AA cells are also quite good and have a slightly
higher rated capacity.    I plan on using two sets of these for the
KX3.

NiMH in general is very cost effective compared to the higher price of
Lithium-based energy storage.
