Congratulations on your progress, and welcome.  I think most of us would 
strongly urge you to get started immediately with computer-based logging 
software. Nowadays, most hams have a computer sitting next to our radio, 
and enter contacts as we go. There are several good options that are 
free, full featured, and easy to use.  Since getting back on the air in 
2003, I've used DXKeeper, which is free, bug-free, and well supported.  
It's for the Windoze platform.  If you live in the Mac world, I'm 
confident that others can suggest an option for you.
