  Jack,

I do not use the NUE-PSK Modem, but I can respond to your question about 
the K2 filters.

I highly recommend that you activate the RTTY filter set (in the 
secondary menu).  That filter set allows you to use the SSBCr 
compression setting which should always be set to 1-1.  The compression 
setting for SSB is separate from this SSBCr setting.

Set the RTTY FL1 the same as you have for the SSB FL1 (note that RTTY is 
LSB and RTTYr (hold the CW REV button) is USB for all bands below 15 meters.
Then I suggest setting FL2, FL3 and FL4 to 1.00, 0.70, and 0.40 widths 
respectively, and set the BFOs so those passbands are centered at 1000 Hz.

Most of the time, you will likely use the FL1 position to give you a 
full waterfall display where you can click on the signal desired.  If 
noise or QRM becomes a problem, narrowing the receive passband may be 
beneficial, so tune the desired signal with the VFO to the vicinity of 
1000 Hz and narrow the passband with the XFIL button.

Note: if you have the KDSP2 installed, you may also want to change the 
center frequencies for the DSP filters to 1000 Hz to correspond with the 
IF filters.  To reduce AGC pumping from stong signals, narrow the IF 
passband first, because that will reduce the AGC response to just those 
signals that are within the IF passband.  While the DSP filters can 
eliminate offending signals, it is working only in the audio path and 
cannot alter the effects of AGC pumping - that IF filters will do that.
