What mode? If this "problem" is in a soundcard driven data mode, be
certain you have enough audio input to the K3 - you need to drive the
ALC indicator up to at least 4 bars and to the point where the 5th bar
has just turned on. The K3 ALC meter is actually an audio level meter
in the lower part of the scale. The 5th bar indicates the onset of ALC.
On SSB, turn compression down to 1:1 and increase the mic gain until you
have 5 to 7 bars indicated on the ALC meter, then set the compression as
you desire.
If this problem occurs in CW, then I have no answer, contact K3support
in that case.
