Tnx for the suggestion Joe: The KX1 needs something closer to a 1-amp
supply. It's rated at 800 mA depending upon supply voltage and power. 

I have some old 12V transformer type wall warts around here too, but aren't
regulated - running up well above 15VDC unloaded - and are limited to about
500 mA.

How much current do you need?  This looks like it's made for the KX-1:

      12V @ 500 mA regulated ... $8..50 each

I have a couple around here and they're almost certainly analog -
16 oz not the 2 oz light weight switchers.
