Should work very well.  The K2 is a bit low on audio gain, and the CM500 
is a pretty hot mic, which should compensate nicely. See my RFI tutorial 
for details of how to bias the electret. There's also info in the Power 
Point on Ham Interfacing. See the K2 manual for details of wiring of the 
mic connector.  You'll need to make a simple cable adapter. Both of my 
pdfs list a source for cable-mount 1/8-in jacks, and you buy the 
connector for the K2 at ham vendors.
