You could. But since there are MODE UP/DN switches, I think you'll  
find that you never need more than two key taps to change modes. The  
mode is also remember per-band.

Also check out the per-band quick memories (M1-M4). You could set them  
up for as many as four different modes on each band, so you can  
quickly get to favorite starting place for each mode.

It's about 20-25 dB by the time you get to 500 kHz. This helps protect  
the K3's PIN-diode T/R switch from extremely strong low-frequency  
signals.

If you want to bypass the high-pass filter, you can install a KXV3  
module and connect your AM broadcast RX antenna to RX IN.
