I'm not sure if this will work for you, but I did accomplish writing a  
couple of macros last night that will switch the mic from front to  
rear and update the tX EQ accordingly.  now i can have both my headset  
and hand mic avail at the press/hold of a front panel button.  this  
might work for you.  Leave the mic on the front, and switch between  
the mic and the TNC onthe rear mic/phone plugs.
