Good Evening,
Even though I had been stacking wood all morning I was still able to send semi-literate CW. The twenty meter net was long enough to tire my overworked hands with my fist growing worse toward the end. I immediately went outside to finish clearing out the driveway of excess wood and completed stacking what I could hoping it would loosen things up. Since the maul was in the truck in the woods you were all saved an even worse fist. Those who work with me during the week have to put up with that! Now that I have switched to swinging the maul left handed my right hand has been saved from worse punishment.
Twenty meters was good today. Better than it has been in a few months. Forty meters appears to be stuck at this time of day but I was able to cross the Missouri to near the Red River catching Ken for the first time in quite a while. Hopefully that is a sign of things to come. Now that Roger is off to VE1 land he may be easier to work than he is right now. He is so close I often miss him on forty. If I was on top of this mountain he would be a groundwave contact but as it is I have to get over the mountain to his house.

I have seen a few deer during the week. They are now hanging out near where I have been cutting. They are avoiding all the hunters who are sighting in their rifles. The sounds of me splitting wood are easier on their ears ;) They enjoy resting in the new growth nearby during the middle of the day. With water available in both directions they are in a fine spot. They also have some forage due to the wind damaged area where I am cutting. A lot of grass has sprung up in there so they do not need to raid the front yard.
Until next week stay well,
73,
Kevin. KD5ONS (Net Control Operator 5th Class)
