I appreciate very much your response.

I have every option available in my K2 Jack and I really didn't want to drill 
another hole in the back panel.

I understand the need to keep any stray signals out of this circuit and figured 
that's why you elected to use the SMA.

I just wonedered if I was overlooking something by electing to use the RX ant
BNC. 

I have no room at my QTH for a receive only antenna so using that connectors
satisfies my need and makes for a very clean installation.

SO,   back to the bench so I can finish this little project.

  The reason for an SMA is that it mounts in a 0.25 inch (6.35mm) hole 
and can be fitted onto a K2 rear panel with all possible options 
installed. It was not possible to get a BNC to work under all conditions 
of K2 options.

The particular SMA provides shielding integrity, unlike using a panel 
mount BNC with a solder lug and center conductor loop.
