Ron, I think you were responding to what I wrote.

Looking at it from the KX1 perspective, a 1 S unit improvement is also an
increase from 2 watts to 8 watts.

That said, I think half an S unit (doubling of power) is often enough to
make a meaningful difference.

As you point out, how something sounds depends on the conditions, and that
applies to changes in power as well.

Just because a doubling of power may be barely audible in one situation does
not mean that one can state that the impact of it is always small.
