HI Joe:

I strongly suggest making sure the module is fully plugged in as the first
step because it's so easy. I've seen a couple of reports that the SUBOUT
managed to come loose and that's the connector carrying the band switching
data I believe. 

Beyond that I'd also swap it into another K3 if one is available to verify
that it's the KRX3 and not the K3 main system that has the problems.

The cover is on the bottom of the receiver housing and I'm
not sure if the board is mounted "up side down."

Since I will need to pull the KRX3 just to troubleshoot, I'll
probably swap it into the radio on the bench for updating ...
