With all the posts about what doesn't work, or doesn't seem to work, I
thought I'd make a short post on what did work. I took my K2, a
Chinese-made Li-Ion battery, my W1, Buddipole, and assorted accessories
to Little Bald Mt [SOTA W6/SN-046] in N. Cal today. There is a fire
lookout there, the fire guys were there closing it for the winter, there
was exactly no haze, and from 7,100 ft, I could see all the way to the
farthest station I worked w/5W [Poland], temps were in the mid 60's,
very light winds, and my Elecraft stuff worked perfectly.

I'm not sure about this battery, bought it on eBay with Mike, KD9KC in
El Paso, they came without instructions and I had to take mine to our
local Chinese restaurant to have the stuff on the label decoded ... I'm
probably the first who has done that to them and it wasn't helpful. The
terminal voltage as reported on the K2 display drops fairly steadily,
after 2.5 hours of operation it had gone from 12.3 to 11.3, however the
K2 just doesn't seem to care. I'm thinking that my K2 operates at near
low voltage cutoff no matter what I supply at the connector.

OK, I don't think I could see to Poland, but certainly to Nevada.
