Good Evening,
My day started a little early when I turned on the lights to check the
clock. Yes, the logging had started on a Saturday morning at 3:30 AM. I
was mistaken the day before when I told someone it was at 4 AM. I had
only lain there listening to the whoomping of falling trees and not
checked the clock. I affirmed my assumption by wandering to a south
facing window to see the lights in the fog. They are clear cutting about
a square mile a few hundred yards away from me. Luckily the machine they
are using makes quick work on the trees by grasping and cutting them in
one motion. Then they drop them in rows for the skidders. Next comes
sorting and stacking for the log trucks. For the next few weeks I get to
sleep in until maybe 4 AM before the jake brakes awaken me. Ugh!
Weather is foggy and soggy with some wind and a lot of rain. My fire
is making the house quite cozy though so I don't need to go anywhere. I
do my chores and write some code while Mozart plays in the background.
Quite a soothing afternoon after the abrupt awakening this morning ;)
Propagation was on again off again this week with few sunspots. Upon
checking SpaceWeather I find the sun has been spot free for four days thus
far. But from the movie I see there is some solar activity. Good, maybe
the aurora can keep the ionosphere perked up.

Please join us tomorrow afternoon and evening.
