[Elecraft] Elecraft CW Net Report for October 3rd & 4th, 2010

Good Evening,
    Both nets went well this evening.  Propagation is improving to where 40  
meters is working well again.  In fact it gained more contacts than did  
twenty.  Plus I once again was able to get over the Rockies and as far as  
the East Coast.  Lately it had been only gathering folks in the far west.
    Weather reports were of early fall weather with only a few folks above  
70 degrees.  Here the leaves are changing while some trees have started to  
lose them.  Soon it will only be the coniferous trees blocking the wind  
and sound.  But that allows me to see further too.  Maybe the local elk  
herd will pass nearby.  Last night I was startled by a few big animals in  
the front yard after dark but am sure they are just the deer munching on  
my lawn.

    As you can see there are a few contacts with whom I was unable to  
gather information.  Maybe as the bands improve with increasing sun  
activity and the gathering gloom of winter I will be better able to chat  
with them a bit.  KD0R was a tough contact but I dug him out of the  
noise.  Just getting his call was hard so I did not even ask for  
information.  The twenty meter net ran during a contest so it was more  
difficult to hear any weak stations through the QRM of nearby stations.  I  
did not check to see which contest it was but later heard there was a CA  
QSO Party in progress.
