Alan,
Thank you for considering it. I do think it may have value beyond equalization, eg. signal width, etc. I can understand your reluctance as you describe the pitfalls. I certainly wouldn't feel bad about waiting for a better implementation. Possibly after the effects of  your turkey dinner wears off it will be replaced with a new energy to update:-). Kudos for the very nice job you all have done so far.
I didn't jump right in on this one because I didn't think it of sufficient value for me but I am very pleasantly surprised at the result. An excellent station accessory.
