I rewired my kbt2 to one of the unused transverter jacks where i installed a coaxial power connector and an inline fuse direct to the kbt2.  The trickle charge components were removed   I installed another power jack with a plug into a Coleman Military Surplus night vision goggles hard case where i keep the k2. When in the case, the power connector from the case goes into the kbt2 charging jack, and a smart charger is plugged into the k2 case. Now my k2 is always ready for portable use
