Good Evening,
The radio is playing the Thisle & Shamrock show, there are many fiddlers enjoying themselves from all over: Shetland, Scotland, Canada, Ireland, Brittany, and the US. Today the weather is quite nice with a high temperature of 57 degrees was a very sunny, still day. I took a hike across the property and found some new elk paths. Unfortunately my flowers may get zapped again this year since a snow storm is due starting Monday and continuing until Tuesday evening. The forecast temperatures go down each time I look. Hmmm... Five more miles to Marianne's.
Propagation was good on twenty meters and also on forty meters. On eighty I could hear the foxes quite well but neither of them could hear me at all. You think when you hear some one S7 or better that they can hear you; such is not always the case. However, last night forty meters was fun listening for a rig I have built on a protoboard. Now that I have one rig in the front room I have an antenna available for testing. So I tuned it up and listened for a few hours. A simple NE602/LM386 lashup working with a varactor tuned LO. One more mile to Marianne's
I need to get back to the bench and get soldering. I also need to get out early again tomorrow to find a spot to site deer and elk. I have been leant a game camera so I can capture images of the critters sneaking by the house when I am not aware. Five hundred yards to Marianne's. (Hopefully the snow will not get this deep. :)
Please join us tomorrow evening.
