Hi Mike,

This is just a side effect of the implementation. "Normal" scan  
(started with a regular-length hold) mutes until a signal appears  
that's above the scan threshold. "Live" scan (started by a long hold)  
holds the audio open at all times, and never stops sweeping the VFO.
