Good Evening,
Weather is on an up cycle at the moment. 70s on Thursday, 80s on Friday, and 90s today. Things will taper off slowly during the coming week. I got onto the roof today and repaired an antenna. Then I got out my chainsaw and cleared a path to the tower on top of the mountain for better Internet connectivity. However, when I got back onto the roof I found one more leaning fir tree in the way. Unfortunately it is on the other side of the five trees I dropped previously. It is too hot to limb and buck any more so that chore will wait for cooler weather.
Propagation was decent this week and from what I can hear on the rig on this bench it is good on multiple bands. I am glad I got that antenna fixed because now I can work and monitor the bands at the same time. With this rig I occasionally go up to the voice regions. Amateur radio is very different in that mode ;) I'll stick with the lower regions of the bands where I am more comfortable. The sun has one very large sunspot grouping with chances for C class flares. That would most assuredly liven up the bands :)
Turk's cap lilies are blooming nicely along with the fireweed. I have been seeing very young, spotted fawns up and down the mountain. The coyotes are enjoying the warmer weather and making quite a racket each night. Four planets are getting closer and closer together in the sky so it is fun to watch after the sun slides over the Coast Range into the ocean. Even though the terpenes rising from all the coniferous trees make a haze I will try to find Mercury again. Ahh, tilting at windmills can be fun at times.

Please join us tomorrow afternoon and evening.
