KUSB didn't work properly with my K3 and HRD either. HRD would freeze or
lose connection intermittently. The KUSB worked fine with other programs
and the K3 Utility though.
I ended up replacing the KUSB for a Keyspan adapter; no problems since and
haven't looked back.

Subject: [Elecraft] K2 - KUSB PROBLEM
My K2 does not work with my KUSB when using HRD. I get a constantly
changing freq display (of different lengths), and the other fields such as
NB do not read correctly.
HOWEVER, there are no problems when using an older Keyspan Serial Adapter on
the K2. Hooked up to the same computer, HRD works fine. ALSO, when using
the K2 with an XV transverter it works fine as well. I am using the KUSB to
connect the K2's KIO2 cable to the computer--not a direct hookup between the
K2 and the computer.
>From this I concluded that the KIO2 and cable were not the problem. The
problem was the KUSB. I told my sad tale to Elecraft Support, and they
gleefully sent me a new KUSB. It works just like the old one, which is to
say it doesn't work!
I am using the latest firmware for the KUSB. The KUSB also does not work
with a serial card (PCMCIA) plugged into my shack laptop. This serial card
is normally used with my K3 and works FB.
Does anyone have a clue as to what could be wrong? There must be many K2
users out there using a KUSB to communicate with their computer.
Thanks,
Eric WD6DBM
