Good Evening,
Surprisingly the weather was dry and clear this week. More sun this week than I have seen in over a month. It was pleasant. The weather forecast has been for rain and clouds each day. They are not doing well in the prediction business; I will stick with my much more reliable weather rock :) The only time it did not work for me was when the wind was so strong it blew into the next county. 150 mph winds can do things like that.
Propagation was mostly good due to the more active sun. Sunspots and coronal mass ejections are keeping the aurora photographers happy and the ionosphere perked up. The fox hunts were fun but the 40 meter session was tough. I could not hear either one well enough to even bother to send a dit. Oh well. 80 meters was much better and I found both of them and worked them. I am waiting for the summer 20 meter hunts. That band seems to work better for me.
Please join us tomorrow evening.
1) Hail signs (first letter or two of the suffix of your call)
2) NCS help (as well as QSP/QNP <relay> help)
Sunday 2300z (Sunday 3 PM PST) 14050 kHz
Monday 0000z (Sunday 4 PM PST) 7045 kHz (this frequency is being used by the Haiti nets)
I will monitor it for a while and then find a spot about 2 kHz up. Around 7047 kHz or so.
Stay warm,
Kevin. KD5ONS
