Good Evening,
This week has been almost constant rain. It varies from heavy to light but rarely ceases. This is what a 'normal' winter is like here in Western Oregon. When those fleeting sights of the sun flash by we all look up and wonder at the orange ball in the sky. We see it so rarely we wonder what it is :) I was driving down the mountain last week when I almost ran off the road. "What is that?", I said to myself. It took me a few minutes to figure out I was seeing shadows! Some folks drive their motor homes to the east side of the Cascades so they get a weekend of sun before they go bonkers. The rest of us don't seem effected ;) Hee hee hee!
Propagation was a little better this week. I got one fox during the 80 meter hunt and heard the other quite faintly. I was otherwise engaged on Thursday for the 40 meter hunt but may have bagged another fox since he was well within range in Bothell, WA. Twenty meter contacts into Alabama were mostly good. I did have high SWR problems on Tuesday when the wind was howling but when I had a chance to drop the antenna could not find a problem with it. However, after I spent some quality time with it operation went smoothly. I think it just needed to be talked to for a little while to make it feel better about its life as an antenna.

Please join us tomorrow evening.
