Hello Gentleman,

There is another advantage for kit version.  For a non-radio man like myself, the assembly process enables me to understand the architecture of a modern transceiver.  It is educational.

James and other K3 users,
    There is one other advantage of the kit.  Having assembled the radio
one has a better idea as to how to install future hardware modifications or
additions.  It may be a small advantage but I believe it is a real one.

Hi Dick,

Alignment of the K3 is performed either by using a computer utility or via
the front panel.  You don't have to "adjust" anything.  Also, assembly of
the K3 is like putting a PC together.  There is no soldering involved.  The
only difference between one option and the other is time and money.
