Oh I agree with you 100% Doug.  I "built" my K3, and was glad I did when it
came time to install some modifications.

James and other K3 users,
    There is one other advantage of the kit.   Having assembled the radio
one has a better idea as to how to install future hardware modifications or
additions.   It may be a small advantage but I believe it is a real one.
