Gary,
The K3 remembers the filter settings per band and per mode. Increase
the DSP width and the filter selection will follow. You may have to
have an assistant to know that the right DSP filter control is set to
WIDTH instead of HI CUT - tapping the button toggles between those two
selections.
There is also the possibility that you could set the filter width using
RS-232 commands sent to the K3, and that may be easier for you. You can
use K3 Utility or several other applications to accomplish that. Look
in the K3 Programmer's Reference for the commands to accomplish it that way.
Another possibility is to set a macro in the K3 so you will have a one
button 'set filter width to 1 kHz' capability whenever you want it.
Again the K3 Programmer's reference will give you the command and syntax
needed. K3 Utility can be used to store the macro in the K3.
