that this refers to a K144XV installed in a K3.

This equates to a noise figure of 3db.

To achieve a lower noise figure, the gain used in the K144XV would have to 
be greater, which would further reduce the overall dynamic range (IMDDR3) of 
the K3 assembly on 2m.
