Gary - Just build the circuit as shown.  It switches in less than 5ms, and 
works great with the K3 and any amplifier and handles full legal limit.  The 
circuit referenced by Cookie is an internal pcb QSK mod that is designed for 
the ALS-500 and ALS-600.
