I have both the 250 and 400 Hz filters. I never use the 400 Hz filter 
for cw [want to buy it?]

I have no trouble tuning across the band with the 250 Hz filter - the 
signals just pop in and out very nicely.
Maybe it's due to the very steep skirts of the filters.
