[Elecraft] P3 at Orlando hamfest pictures and movies

I've had exactly the same reaction. It seems to me that limited functionality, no matter how exquisitely done, is still limited functionality.

My major disappointment is that, in my admittedly non-expert opinion, the P3 COULD have had similar functionality to an SDR-IQ but for some reason doesn't.

Why do you say that these photos and videos demonstrate why the integral
P3 is a winner over a PC based panadapter? I came to the opposite
conclusion but I'm willing to wait for more information. If you want
to run anything else on the PC based on the K3 IF output, CWSkimmer for
example, you would still need something like LP-PAN and a high sample
rate audio card. If you make that investment, I don't know why you
would also buy a P3 when it really doesn't seem to do anything that
PowerSDR-IF (which is free) can't do. It aso seems that there is no
mouse control for the P3 which I think is a drawback. I admit that I
would like that 'toy' but I don't think I could justify buying it solely
based on a capability that exceeds what can be done with a PC which I
don't think it has. Now, if you just WANT it, I can understand that.
Boys really do like their toys.
