I see the question has been asked but not really answered. Is there an
adapter that would allow one to plug the 8 pin mic plug from a desk mic into
the rear mic 3.5mm input socket? I have a new K-3 and a 4-pin xlr desk mic
with the Kenwood 8 pin plug cable on the other end for use with Elecraft
radios. I am sure it will work fine when plugged into the mic socket on the
front of the K-3 and properly configured. I would like to plug it into the
rear of the K-3, without destroying the cable by wiring it for a 3.5mm
stereo plug. Is there an adapter out there? If not, is anyone making and
selling a correctly configured adapter cable? I will also be using a foot
switch. I haven't tried SSB with the K-3 yet, but after a few weeks I find
the CW mode superb with the 400hz filter and DSP. Thank you fellow K-3
lovers. I am keeping my K-2, but this K-3 is really something. And, "NO" I
am not qualified to wire this up myself as many of us are-- but many are
not. Ron
