[Elecraft] Using the P3 jumpy when tuning

Averaging is clunky when tuning because BY DEFINITION a period must
pass with accumulation of individual data points in order to make a
display. IF you leave averaging on when you tune, by mathematical
definition, the display MUST lag behind where you really are tuned, by
the averaging period. This was exceedingly annoying, so ithe P3
switches averaging off so it shows where you ARE instead of where you
WERE. With averaging on, once you've started to tune, there is now a
difference between where you were and where you are and changing the
screen off averaging necessarily involves a jump. With tuning, having
the P3 showing exactly where you are as the tuning progresses garners
all the votes.
Just another version of between a rock and a hard place, caught
between math and physics, and appearances. What's a fella to do?

If this is set to a large number the display will only refresh that often. If it happens to be set to 500 ms (1/2 second) or even higher the display will appear very jerky. Set that parameter down to around zero and you'll get quick sweeps that won't appear jerky at all.
