Good Evening,
Conditions on both twenty and forty meters were not very good today.
It was snowing again today. Forecasts changed radically just before I
went to bed Christmas night. All day it had been predicted that we would
get a week of rain. The update changed the precipitation type to snow for
the next four days. When I awoke it was raining but then came the silence
and I saw it had become snow falling heavily. However, I doubt that was
causing the same problems I was having last week since this snow was wet
and then it was quite dry. I was not hearing static of the same type
either.

Next Sunday's nets will be the first of 2011. Now that the sun is
coming back again the propagation should incrementally improve month by
month. Hopefully the sun will also sprout more activity which will ionize
our atmosphere more too. Both effects will improve propagation while the
lengthening hours of daylight will improve our spirits. Even though
winter is a great time to work at the bench I get a little stir crazy with
all the grey days of snow and rain. A good hike now and then improves my
state of mind. But it has been a mild winter thus far. My wood supply is
holding out very well. If this keeps up there will be plenty of wood left
over for next year.
Until next week stay well,
73,
Kevin. KD5ONS (Net Control Operator 5th Class)
