[Elecraft] CW question K3

I am trying to set up to listen to CW on the K3 using software to help 
decode messages.

The question that I have is why can I hear the CW in USB (20M) fine and 
nothing when I go to CW mode.

I have looked in the manual and other references but nothing makes sense 
to me.
