[Elecraft] CM500 mic keeps cutting out midsentence

I use the following settings with my CM500 and my K3.
Mic Sel - RPL Bias
Antivox - 015
Xox Gn - 025
Mic Delay 0.50
Mic Gain 10
Cmp 20
You may need to increase the microphone gain setting to suit your voice.

I hope this helps.

The owner's manual says "MAIN:VOX GN (VOX gain) should be set to trigger at
normal speech level, but not in response to incidental noise. Start with low
  settings (5-10)."

I didn't write that text. I assumed it was saying to start with low settings
to ensure the VOX would trigger reliably and raise it as needed to avoid
  false triggering.

  Maybe a bad assumption :-)

" Zero VOX Gain should mean that *any* sound picked up by the mic should
  initiate transmit." ???

I always thought "zero" meant NO - so you are saying if you turn the VOX
Gain down to zero, you're going to be able to hear a flea sneeze?

Or did you mis-read what Jeff actually said?
