  Tom,

For the most part, the answer is yes, but there is no harm in doing the 
TX Gain Calibration using the K3 Utility procedure,, it is easy, and if 
you have a signal generator with a 50 uV output, do the RX gain 
calibration too.
If you have the means, do the wattmeter calibration first, and check the 
CAL REF by receiving WWV on the highest frequency that you can hear it.

What I am saying is that the calibration for the K3 is not difficult, so 
just walk through it occasionally as a 'sanity check'
