I can't help with identifying distribution channels, but Neutrik, an
excellent connector manufacturer based in Liechtenstein, makes both male and
female cable-mount 1/8-inch connectors of decent quality that can be
purchased through audio distributors in the US. Perhaps there is something
comparable in the UK. If you were in the US, I would send you to a Full
Compass, a vendor in Madison, WI who I buy from via the internet. It's a
family-owned company, and I know the family -- I used to compete with them
many years ago when I sold pro audio to broadcasters. :)
Neutrik and Switchcraft are the major manufacturers of high quality audio
connectors in the world. They also make parts to mount on printed circuit
boards.
See the section on audio in my RFI tutorial for Neutrik part numbers. They're
also near the end of the Power Point pdf on Ham Interfacing.
