Tommy, I find XMLog to be right for me. I will not do all the things that HRD
will do, but it does what I need most. It is a share ware program, so you pay
what you think it is worth to you when you can. You might also look at putting
your logger in the C: directory rather than the C://Programs directory to avoid
the problems created by the Win 7 data handling. I am using Win7, 64 bit, Home
Deluxe Edition with an HP Pavilion, AMD Phenom 2 processor. XMLog also works
with Vista. It has a couple of quirks with Win 7, namely it requires Task
Manager to shut down.

Subject: [Elecraft] Dead Horse?
I have been using a logging program named YPlog for about 15 years. It has
not been supported for the past 10 years, however it is still, in my
opinion, one of the best logging programs around. Up until I received my K3,
YPlog had worked with any radio I tried connecting it to. But of course, now
I can not get it to talk with the K3. I know the problem is with YPlog and
not the K3.
YPlog supports Icom, Yaesu, Kenwood, and Ten Tec radios. I have been trying
to make it connect to the K3 using the Kenwood radio, however that section
defaults at 4800 b and 2 data bits. I can occasionally get it to work with
my K3 if I select 34,500b and 1 bit, but that is not successful every time.
My thousand to one shot question, has anyone with K3, who might be using
this old program, ever gotten it to communicate with the their K3? If so, I
sure would like to know how you have yours configured. Also is there any way
(I'm only about half way into the K3 manual) to change the stop bit from the
default 1, to 2?
Thanks for any help and/or suggestions.
BTW, I have tried WIN-EQF and resource hog Ham Radio Deluxe without success.
I'm running Win 7 pro 64-bit op system.

Tom - W4BQF
